Bringing stories, universes and characters to life

Using second hand, rented and redesigned pieces
(the zero waste approach)

on stage

Through partnerships with companies like The Orchard Theater Collective & Minnesota Opera I have honed my skills for creating maximum impact with minimal budgets, resources and time. Using a combination of rentals, thrifted and repurposed materials and handmade items - entire universes can be created without the cost and waste often associated with theatrical costuming.

on Film

Fundamentally, I believe that so many hints of our personality live in the items we choose to (and to not) wear. No medium better captures the nuance of an outfit quite like film.

I recently designed wardrobe for the indie feature What She Said (see trailer below) using 95% post-consumer and / or sustainable crafted apparel. Was it more work? yes. Was the outcome worth it? Also, yes.

on children

I love costuming for children. Is it usually complete mayhem? yes. Does it remind me each and every moment how thankful I am for the arts and the teachers (parents, volunteers) who kept them alive, pre-covid? Also, yes.
Costuming for children’s theater is driven more by gratitude than anything else; it is my opportunity to replenish the gifts I was given as a child in the arts.

As creatives, we must choose the world in which we want to live, work and create.

Let me bring your world to life, the low-to-no waste way.
